For students aspiring for engineering and medical, last few months have been very uncertain. For engineering students, it was the unclarity over the new pattern of the common entrance test (proposed JEE) for IITs and NITs while for medical aspirants, it was about NEET.
If our nation move towards ‘one-nation one-test’ philosophy, we are not going to see many exams that are conducted to qualify students for number of engineering and medical colleges. While there are many exams that are conducted every year, some of these have really become big brands in themselves with Lakhs of students appearing every year. In the infographics, we have listed down 5 major entrance tests namely IIT JEE, AIEEE, BITSAT, VITEE and AIPMT and the competitive index of these exams. We define competitive index of an exam as the number of applicants contending for a single seat.
Is there any other major exam after class XII with more than 1Lakh students appearing? Is there any way a student can use this competitive index to one’s advantage? How would this compare with other well know exams like IAS and CAT?
