16 students have made it to the finals of Google Science Fair 2012 (Check here to see the list of students and the projects they submitted - Google Science Fair 2012
13 of these 16 students [10 projects] fall in age 13-14 category, 2 students fall in 15-16 age group whole 1 student falls in 16-17 age group.
The projects submitted are equally impressive, here is list of some of them -
Can Bixa seeds substitute artificial inks
Redesigning of the water closet / flush to reduce the consumption of water

It is also interesting to note that apart from Metros, finalists come other towns like Hubli, Aurangabad, Trivandrum, Hyderabad, Bhopal, Lucknow, Pune.
